A brilliantly sunny November day lured us to one of Missouri’s best state parks – Meramac. Although I didn’t notice a single bird, we did find a wasp carting away an immobilized spider, a woodchuck basking in the sun, frogs glistening in Sheep’s Cave, and tadpoles and minnows dancing around in the creeks. The Sycamore’s stark white bark reflected the bright rays of the sun in a spectacular fashion. A chilly morning hike followed by lunch on the river and accented by the exploration of a cave provided us with a stunning backdrop for a day out with friends.
